The Sail loft is located in the village of Arisaig on the A830 Fort William to Mallaig “Road to the Isles”. Arisaig is known to be one of the most picturesque and tranquil villages on the west coast of Scotland. The Sail Loft is a self-contained flat above the detached garage adjacent to the owners family holiday home 'Boreray' and is within the beautiful village of Arisaig in an elevated position.
The Sail Loft has commanding views over Arisaig Bay, Loch Nan Ceall, and its skerries as well as the islands of Eigg and Muck. The flat is 200 meters from Arisaig Hotel, 300 meters from the local shop, Cafe Rhu, The Old Library Restaurant and Arisaig Marine which has its own Cafe and gift shop adjacent to the pier. The railway station is 600 meters away.
Ideal holiday accommodation for a couple (or 3 using the Sofa Bed).
A new build (2016-2017) one bedroom flat. Open plan well-appointed sitting room, dining area and kitchen with a log burning stove. Double bedroom with a king-sized double bed and built-in wardrobe. Separate wash room with shower. The sitting area has a Sofa bed which would be suitable for one person, if you wish to use this please bring your own bedding for the sofa bed. The Kitchen has an induction hob cooker, microwave and washer/dryer machine. A terrace around the west of the flat with seating allows you to soak up the view and enjoy the fresh air.
We provide all linen (with the exception of the Sofa bed), bedding and towels although you are most welcome to bring your own bedding and pillows if you wish. There is a TV with a DVD player which can be linked to the WiFi to get online TV channels & your own Netflix etc. We think we are the only private house north of the Great Glen with Fiber Optic actually in to the building with Cat 5 cabling to the Sail Loft. So the internet WiFi is very fast. Wood for the stove is provided and can be found in the wood shed adjacent to the car parking area. Dedicated car parking.
We ask that that The Sail Loft is left in the same condition as it is found. Well-behaved dogs are allowed by arrangement only. Please note they are not allowed on furniture including beds.
Local Amenities Arisaig Marine operates daily trips on the MV Shearwater to Eigg, Rum and Muck where you may be lucky enough to see seals, porpoises, dolphins, minke whales, otters and from time to time Orca! The area is fantastic for walks from lazy strolls round the village or out the Rhu Road to more arduous hill walking up Craigmhor or Loch Morar & Meoble. The beach used in the filming of 'Local Hero' is 4 miles away, the fishing port of Mallaig 7 miles and Fort William 34 miles. The visitor attractions are too many to mention.

By Rail: Arisaig is the most westerly rail station on the British mainland and located on the famous West Highland Line. There is a regular train service from Glasgow & Fort William to Mallaig. Arisaig. The Sail Loft is 600 meters from Arisaig station.
By Sea: Navigate one of the most challenging and rewarding channels on the west coast of Scotland. It is recommended to use suitable pilot books or local knowledge. Moorings are available from Arisaig Marine. The Sail Loft is 200 meters from Arisaig Marine.
Rooms & Tariffs
From April to October the preference is for full week bookings only however we will make every effort to accommodate any request. Weeks run from Saturday to Saturday. Check in is after 4.00pm, or earlier by arrangement (the flat is normally ready by noon), and guests must vacate the accommodation by 10.00am on day of departure.
From November to March we are happy to take shorter bookings by arrangement, please call or E Mail. If however this does not suit your plans please contact us and we will be pleased to try and accommodate you.
Tariff April to October £500.00 per week, November to March £350, Christmas and New Year £500 - 50% deposit required to secure your booking payable by cheque or BACS. Balance to be paid two weeks prior to arrival. There is no charge for electricity.
