Traigh Lodges, self-catering accommodation, near Arisaig
Scottish Tourist Board 2 and 3 stars
The Holiday Lodges and flat (apartment) of Traigh (pronounced Try) are in a delightful, unspoilt area of the West Highlands near Arisaig on the road to Mallaig and the ferry to the romantic Isle of Skye.
All properties are within a short walk of the magnificent white sandy beaches for which the region is renowned - including Camusdarach Beach, where Local Hero was filmed.
|
The Lodges are set among Scots
pines, and are attractive A-frame Scandinavian timber
chalets. Each sleeps 4 people in simple, but stylish
comfort and both are tastefully appointed and
well-furnished. Both have an entrance lobby, with bathroom adjacent - thus allowing children to change on entry to the lodge; passing by the galley-kitchen and leading to the spacious living room with dining area. |
| There are 2 bedrooms, one with double bed and good drawer/wardrobe space; the other upstairs - approached by an angled ladder - has twin beds and is great fun for children! | |
|
There are patio doors to the verandah, which looks out over the Sound of Sleat - ideal for a quiet reflective evening. Full double-glazing and quality insulation, coupled with efficient electric heating, will ensure warmth and comfort for all guests in all seasons. |
|
Tigh-na-Bruaich ('House on the
bank' in Gaelic) offers a self-contained flat
(apartment), on the upper floor of a farmhouse, with
private external entrance. The flat offers sturdy,
comfortable accommodation and has full central heating. The flat has 2 bedrooms - one double and one triple, both with good storage - which can sleep up to 5 persons. There is a bathroom with shower and bath. The kitchen is well equipped and includes a microwave cooker, oven and hob cooker, fridge, dishwasher and an automatic clothes washer and dryer. |
| There is a spacious living room with integral dining area, well furnished and well decorated - this room is enhanced by a wide balcony overlooking the islands of Eigg, Rum and Skye. | |
All properties are well decorated and furnished, equipped with colour TV, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, with bedrooms having continental quilts (bed linen and towels are provided). The properties are all-electric on the economic 'Total-Control' system.
Pets are welcome, at a small charge, but must be kept under strict control as Traigh is a working stock farm. The nearest shop is 2 miles from Traigh, and a car is advisable not only for shopping but to enable one to get out and about and see more of this beautiful locality.
| There is unlimited space for walking, climbing and exploring - glorious countryside with an abundant variety of wild flora and fauna. A wide range of activities is available in the area; with sailing, rowing and canoeing as well as sea and loch fishing easily arranged. The local golf course is small but enjoyable! | |
| Prices: £290 - £520 per week. For enquiries or bookings, please contact: Traigh Lodges |
