The Old Byre Lodge
Luxury Self Catering Accommodation in Knoydart
![]() |
The Old Byre is the Knoydart Estate's original milking shed dating back to the mid 1800s. It is a traditionally built West Highland stone building, converted into a modern lodge in 2003. |
The Old Byre is 5 minutes walk from the main village of Inverie and guests can arrange to be picked up from the pier on arrival.
As remote as it is, The Old Byre is a cosy, warm retreat, delightful to come back to after a long day on the hills. Whilst retaining the old world charm, all the rooms are completely modern with underfloor heating.

Activities
|
For all its remoteness, there is no shortage of activities and things to do on Knoydart.
The Knoydart Peninsula is renowned for its walking trails. People come from all over the world to experience the wilderness firsthand, and because Knoydart is only accessible by boat or foot, the trails traverse spectacular glens. Many of our guests come to climb the four famous Munros (mountains over 3000 feet). |
