Meaning 'shelter' in Gaelic, Fasgadh
(pronounced as 'fashga')
is a newly built, croft-style home which sits in a quiet alcove
within the picturesque village of Morar.
| On the ground floor are a fully fitted kitchen,
living room with dining area, bathroom and twin bedroom.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin), each
with en-suite showers. The living room has a double
sofa-bed so that Fasgadh can easily accommodate 8 people.
The bright, spacious accommodation features an attractive west-facing verandah with garden furniture, accessible from the front porch, a large open fireplace in the living-room with all fuel provided. The are also Sky TV and VCR, washing machine, microwave and constant hot water, all included in the rent. |

Prices are from £545 to £585 per week and include all linen and towels and electricity.
Local Area
| The village of Morar is located 3 miles from
the fishing port of Mallaig and 5 miles from Arisaig and
enjoys breathtaking views to the islands of Eigg and Rum.
Nearby are the famous Silver Sands beaches at
Camusdarach, where the film 'Local Hero' was made. Morar is home to Britain's deepest freshwater loch, from which flows Britain's shortest river - only 500 yards or so to the sea. Rumours abound of a cousin to Nessie lurking beneath its depths and Morar's own monster is affectionately referred to as Morag. |

Local activities include guided hillwalks, Loch Morar boat hire with fishing permits, Traigh 9-hole golf course, the Jacobite steam train journey along the spectacular West Highland Line, cruises to the small isles of Eigg, Rum, Muck and Canna, as well as Skye, from Arisaig and Mallaig, and local Highland Games in July and August.
Mallaig, Morar and Arisaig have local hotels with bars and dining rooms, serving local seafood and produce. Other restaurants, grocery and craft shops can be also found in Mallaig and Arisaig.
Directions:
From the A82 north of Fort William, take the A830 towards Mallaig. Morar is approximately 50 minutes drive from Fort William, 3 hours from Glasgow and 4 hours from Edinburgh.
