The Jacobite Steam Train runs between Fort William and Mallaig during the summer. For 2010, this service operates Monday - Friday between 17 May and 29 October. Also Saturdays & Sundays between 26 June and 29 August 2010. Departs from Fort William railway station at 10.20am.
It is operated by the West Coast Railway Company Ltd. To book tickets, please telephone: 01524 732100 or book online.

Isle of Muck Events:
Every Wednesday in July and August: Arisaig Marine ferry leaves at 11am. Come to the Isle of Muck for Muck Market Day: island vegetables, lamb & pork, homemade cakes & ice-cream, island crafts, guided tours of the island.

Exhibition now showing at the Land, Sea and Islands Visitor Centre at Arisaig:
Current exhibitions feature the works of 19th century watercolourist Jemima Blackburn, and West Highland Emigration in the late 18th century
Displays at the Centre also include information about local crofting, fishing, church history, marine life, nature, Bonnie Prince Charlie, and those who trained in the area for the Special Operations Executive (SOE) during World War II.

  • 9 - 15 May: Loch Shiel Spring Festival - Classical music concerts. Contact tel - 01397 722334.
  • 23 May: Camusdarach Gardens - open afternoon from 2-6pm. Proceeds to charity. Cream teas and light refreshments. Entry £4.
  • 27 May: Produce Fair at Astley Hall from 11am - 3pm. Free entry.
  • 8 - 9 June: Feis Eigg
  • 12 June: Isle of Eigg anniversary and ceilidh
  • 12 June: Annual Agricultural Show at Camusdarach. Followed by a Dance in the Astley Hall at 9pm.
  • 19 June: Small Isles games
  • 25 June: Mallaig Pool Gala Day
  • 27 June: Isle of Muck open day
  • tbc July: Mallaig Mission Gala Day
  • tbc July: Feis Eigg
  • 22 July: Produce Fair at Astley Hall from 11am - 3pm. Free entry.
  • 27 July: Arisaig Craft Fair in the Astley Hall, with many tables and some demonstrations. 11am - 3pm. Refreshments, soup and sandwiches.
  • 28 July: Arisaig Highland Games and Clanranald Gathering at Traigh. The Chief of the Games will be Ranald Macdonald, 24th Captain and Chief of Clanranald accompanied by his household which will include old friends and Clan Donald stalwarts, Lt. Col. Ruaridh Allen and his wife Diane, both Clan Donald Commisioners, from North Carolina. Ballochmyle Ceilidh Band play at the Games Dance in the Astley Hall. 10pm.
  • 31 July: Lochaber Highland Games at Fort William.
  • 1 August: Mallaig and Morar Highland Games - at the new Lovat Memorial Field, Morar.
  • 21 August: Glenfinnan Highland Games. Phone 01397 72 23 24.
  • 26 August: Produce Fair at Astley Hall from 11am - 3pm. Free entry.
  • end August - RNLI Gala Day
  • September - Mallaig Schools Gala Day
