Affording spectacular views across Arising Bay to the Small Isles of Egg & Muck, Downey Birch House is a short walk (500m) for The Old Library Restaurant & Rhue Café serving locally caught fresh fish, Arisaig Hotel, Arisaig Marina, the railway station, and all village amenities.

There are spectacular walks, stunning secluded white sandy beaches, and a wealth of wildlife. See herons, buzzards, deer, seals, Golden Eagles, and there is both sea fishing and loch fishing (by permit). Daily boat trips are available during the summer months to the Small Isles with regular sightings of porpoise, minke whale & basking shark.

For a holiday break to remember on the road to the Isles, Downey Birch House is a private, peaceful retreat, and home from home.

Accommodation is light and roomy, with fresh modern furnishings, extra long king sized brass bed, Egyptian cotton linen with hypoallergenic duvet, DVD player/ library (no tv reception), tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer and many other extras.

Choose a full Scottish breakfast served with Downey Birch's own free-range organic eggs. During the season there are fresh fruits including redcurrants, strawberries and blackcurrants, home made preserves, freshly picked tomatoes, home baked speciality breads, and cut flowers daily. Vegetarian and special dietary requirements can be catered. Breakfast is served at 8:00 am.

Smoking is only permitted in the house gardens.

We are happy to accommodate well behaved small dogs by arrangement.

Open all year except Christmas week (but even then you can try your luck).

Tariff: £30 per person per night
£15 supplement for single occupancy.

Downey Birch House can be found above the big stone barn first left as you travel into Arisaig from the highest turn off the A830. Just take the driveway next to the barn.

Confirmation of booking is sent via e-mail when all further enquiries can be happily answered.
