Boat trips run from Arisaig and Mallaig and this is a chance to explore the local Islands of Muck, Rum and Eigg, this is also a good opportunity to spot Seals, Dolphins, Porpoise and Minke whales. Basking sharks have also been seen depending on the time of year. From Deer, Common Buzzards, Sea and Golden Eagles, right down to cheeky Pine Martins the area is rich in wildlife so it's a good idea to always keep a keen eye. |
| The small fishing village of Mallaig is a 5-minute drive and from here you can take the car ferry to Skye, hop a ride on the Jacobite steam train to Fort William (seasonal), or just take a casual stroll around the harbour. There is also a heated swimming pool with fun days for the kiddies. Here you will also find local supermarkets, chemist and gift shops. Local restaurants are a must visit priority for sea food lovers and for those who enjoy pub nights and live music, the local paper West Word has details of these events. | ![]() |
