Mallaig is a busy fishing village with a swimming pool & Heritage Centre. The area has much to offer and is an ideal base for the Isle of Skye ferry & day trips to Knoydart and the isles of Eigg, Rum, Muck & Canna. Day trips are also available from Arisaig.
The Silver Sands of Morar, Camusdarach & Traigh are 3-5 miles by car, as is the 9 hole golf course at Traigh. There are ample opportunities for walking and during the summer months there is a guided walks programme with our local ranger. The Jacobite Steam train (May - October) runs between Fort William & Mallaig in what is regarded as one of the most scenic rail journeys in UK. Mallaig & Arisaig (7 miles) have numerous restaurants and bars where you can enjoy fresh local seafood and produce. |
